A Bidwell 4800 concrete paver spans the Haywood Road bridge in Dillsboro. Workers have begun pouring concrete for the new bridge, and the Bidwell consolidates and smooths it, Site Superintendent Shawn Ryder said. The bridge might open as early as March, according to NCDOT Assistant Resident Engineer Kenny McCourt.
