Fireworks will thunder and thrill in Sylva at dark (about 9:30 p.m.) Saturday, July 4. The show from Sunrise Park will be visible throughout downtown and the immediate surrounding areas. The fireworks team will shoot a warning shot about 9:15 p.m. so people can see if their viewing spot is good, Chamber Director Julie Donaldson said. The fireworks will last 17 minutes. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, there will not be any activities at Bridge Park. The show is organized by the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce. Concerts on the Creek has been postponed. For the new lineup, see page 2.
