Born and raised in Bryson City, Robbin previously managed a bed and breakfast. She's married to Paul Monteith, who owns Bob's Building Supply and Plumbing. They have one daughter, Carly, 12, and live in Bryson City. Yvonne, also born and raised in Bryson City, has lived in Sylva for the past 20 years. A former Allstate insurance agent, Yvonne is married to Bobby Price, part owner of Supri Auto Service. They two sons, Brant, 17, and Scot, 15, and live in Dillsboro. Extension Service will present a program titled "Handle with Care - Learn to Make Homemade Baby Food" Wednesday, Dec. 13, from 10 until 11 a.m Topics to be covered include the nutritional value of homemade baby foods, safe preparation, proper storage, and the benefits of homemade versus commercial baby foods. Jackson County Superintendent of Schools Paul Buchanan has been honored in Yadkin County with an endowed scholarship in his name through the North Carolina Community Foundation. Buchanan, principal of Yadkinville Schools from 1947 to 1963, was superintendent here from 1963 until 1975. The scholarship was established to underwrite a college scholarship at Forbush High in Buchanan's honor. Plans are to award the scholarship annually to a graduating senior at Forbush. KEN POTTS ...
formerly of Dillsboro and now of Cleveland, Ohio, wants his friends to know he's on the verge of being listed in the Guinness Book of Records. He is in Florence, Italy, where he is preparing to go for a couple of world shooting records on Dec. 19. He has already met qualifying marks in the bolt action .40 caliber and M-50 categories.
LIVINGSTON KELLEY ...
deserves credit for some of the parade photographs that appeared in last week's Herald. He included some pictures he took when he returned our developed film, and we didn't realize all of the pictures weren't ours. In another sense, Livingston deserves credit for all the parade pictures we had last week. If he hadn't been willing to stay late and develop and print our color film, we might not have had the photos in time to run them in color. Thanks, Livingston!
