Tumbling and Dance Academy in Sylva is now owned and operated by Chad Wright, who recently moved to Jackson County from the Asheville area. He has seven years experience in gymnastics and competitive cheerleading and served in the U.S. Marine Corps for five years. The Stage Door is now offering adult classes, and it's not too late to register, Wright said.

a Jackson County building inspector, was the guest speaker at the October meeting of the Jackson County Home Builders Association. He spoke on the new international building code to be implemented in January. The group meets the first Monday of each month. VOLUNTEER...
opportunities to benefit elderly persons in Jackson County include delivering noon meals to homebound elderly every Friday on a local Sylva route. You must have your own transportation, valid driver's license, and a sunny disposition. Deliveries start at 10:30 a.m. and go until noon. To volunteer, call Jerry Herbers (mornings after 9:30 a.m.) at 586-6710 or 631-9403. Volunteers are also needed this Saturday beginning at 8:30 a.m. to deliver firewood to the county's elderly.
