SOUL INFUSION...

Tea House and Deli, owned by Jason and Karin Kimenker, recently held its grand opening celebration. Open since early summer, Soul Infusion offers a variety of specialty teas - both hot and iced - as well as beer and wine. Their menu features sandwiches, burritos, desserts and Karin's famous coleslaw. Soul Infusion is located on N.C. 107 in the old Boyd Brendle house near UPS.

of Cullowhee was recently elected second vice president of the N.C. Division of the United Daughters of the Confederacy during their 105th annual convention in Goldsboro. Other delegates included Rosalind Behre of Tuckasegee.

School Class of 1953 will hold a reunion Saturday, Oct. 27, from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Community Service Center. For more information, contact Bob Blackwell at 586-6976.


THE THIRD ANNUAL ...

WMU Christmas Craft Show and bake sale will be Saturday, Nov. 3, at Pumpkintown Community Building from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Crafters are needed. Tables rent for $10, and only a few remain. For information, contact Berta Elkins at 586-5685 or Arilla Jones at 586-6347.


"WIN WITH ABILITY"...

is the theme for national Disability Employment Awareness Month. The employment rate of people with disabilities has historically been the lowest of any minority in the nation. Recent polls indicate that almost 75 percent of individuals with severe disability are not employed. Employers interested in hiring a qualified person with a disability may call the local Vocational Rehabilitation Services office at 586-4032.
