METROSTAT TECHNOLOGIES is featured this week in a new rendition of our popular Business Spotlight feature. CITY LIGHTS will host the author of "Amazing North Carolina" Tuesday, July 22, at 7:30 p.m. Theresa Jensen Lacey will read from her book, answer questions and sign copies. CHRISTMAS IN JULY will be held this Saturday, July 19, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. to raise money for the Community Table. Holiday items on sale will include new ornaments, decorations and gifts donated by Kathy Painter when she closed her Main Street business, Gifts of the Heart. Homemade jams, jellies, canned goods, cookies and beverages will also be available. The Community Table is located on Old Asheville Highway next to the former Majik gas station. THE CULLOWHEE HIGH SCHOOL reunion will include a picnic Friday Aug. 8, at 4 p.m. at the Western Carolina University picnic area and a Saturday, Aug. 9, event at Cullowhee Valley School. THE BUILDERSMITH is a Jackson County business that recently joined the Better Business Bureau of Asheville and Western North Carolina.
Smoky Mountain Alpaca Farm recently opened its doors with the assistance of Ambassadors from the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce. The Alpaca Farm is located just off U.S. 441 near Country Road Farms and raises alpacas for breeding purposes as well as for fleece. For more information, call 586-8113.
The Holiday Inn Express celebrated held its grand opening celebration July 1, and Jackson County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors were on hand for the ribbon cutting.
