Bull

PROFESSIONAL BULL RIDERS...

will return to Western Carolina University Friday and Saturday, April 5-6. Sanctioned by the North American Bull Riding Association, the event will feature competitors from across the U.S. riding some of the toughest bucking bulls ever loaded in a chute. Advance tickets are available at the Ramsey Center and at Country Road Farms in Sylva. The Ramsey Center will open at 6:30 p.m. each night, and competition will begin at 8 p.m.


COUNTRY ROAD FARMS...

RECYCLING...

is mandatory within the town of Sylva. Country Collections, the company that contracts with the town to pick up residential trash and recycling, is trying to inform town residents of exactly what is and is not recyclable. That information is available in their ad on page 2A of this issue.


GRANNY'S KITCHEN...

in Cherokee has reopened for the season. The popular eatery is open Tuesdays through Sundays and closed on Mondays.


COUNTRY CAFE...

located next to Jimmy's Mini Market in Tuckasegee, is now under new management. The restaurant is open from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday-Thursday and from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. See their ad in this issue for information.


A-PLUS...

Educational Supplies has reopened under the ownership of Matthew and Erin Brooks, who plan to add preschool and daycare materials and supplies, as well as Christian materials for Sunday school classes and Bible studies. All teachers will be given a 10 percent discount. Store hours are 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, call Matt or Erin at 586-8677.


WNC INTERNAL MEDICINE...

has moved to temporary quarters in WestCare Medical Park while their offices are being remodeled. Dr. Robert Adams and Dr. Dominique Toedt are currently seeing patients in their temporary office near Dr. Earl Haddock. For more information, call Drs. Adams and Toedt at 586-7798.


HAMPTON INN ...

in Cherokee recently received the Circle of Excellence award for being among the top 10 percent nationally in quality and service based on customer feedback. The Cherokee hotel is one of only 90 Hampton Inns in the chain to receive the award.

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS...

Barge, Waggoner, Cannon and Sumner will hold a daylong planning session during which local residents, business owners and property owners can discuss the revitalization process of Mill Street. The session will be Friday, April 5, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Lifeway Community Church. "This is your plan, so please show community interest and attend this planning session at any time during the day to discuss your areas of concern," said Mary Moody, president of Sylva Partners in Renewal.
