CHICK DAYS...are here. Baby chickens will arrive Friday, April 4, at Bryson Farm Supply. Also, Bryson's greenhouse is now open and stocked with a complete line of bedding plants and hanging basket. Bryson's continues to offer building stone, landscaping rock, tools, feed and seed, as well as bird seed, feeders and pet supplies.
LOCAL ACTOR...and Cullowhee High graduate Nick Searcy has a part in "Head of State" with Chris Rock, which is now showing at the Quin Theater. Nick is the son of James and Marie Searcy of Sylva.
THE CULLOWHEE HIGH...reunion committee still needs to locate some alumni in order to send out reunion information. See the ad on page 6A in this issue to see if your name is on the list.
PERFECT REFLECTIONS...is the name of Sylva's newest hair and tanning salon. Located on East Main Street next to Sweet Dreams, Perfect Reflections will feature grand opening specials this Saturday, April 5. Owner is Dianne Pastell, formerly of Tangles in Bryson City. Dianne has 10 years experience and specializes in cuts, perms, color, highlights and waxing.
TONEMASTER MUFFLER...owner Harry Peisel called to let us know his shop has been open for 18 years. Congratulations, Harry!
"HE'S ALIVE,"...an Easter drama staged by Webster Baptist Church, will be presented at Southwestern Community College's Myers Auditorium for two weekends, Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6 and Saturday and Sunday, April 12-13. Saturday stagings are at 7 p.m. and Sunday's events are at 3 p.m. Admission is free.
THE SYLVA-WEBSTER...Class of 1983 is planning a class reunion Saturday, July 26. They need addresses of classmates in order to send out reunion information.
THE OFFICES OF...Drs. Patrick and David McGuire congratulate the patients in the 80/20 Club. Participants are at least 80 years old and have maintained 20 or more teeth. Most of them were patients of either Dr. Patsy or Dr. Harold McGuire, with a few who had been patients of Drs. Daisy and Wayne McGuire. A party was given in their honor in the lobby of the dental office. Attending were Norman West, Lolita West, Paul Buchanan, Louise Buchanan, Richard Renfro, Bob Perigo, Ann Enloe, Ann Morrill, Maurice Morrill, Sarah Barrett, George Penland, Susie Beck, Regina Fisher, Lou Bryson, Susie Beck, Beatrice Bryson, Martin Kangas and Drs. Patsy, Harold, David and Patrick McGuire.
