CATAMOUNT TRAVEL CENTER ...

in Cullowhee will hold a grand opening celebration today (Thursday) through Sunday, March 24. The complex includes an Exxon gas station and car wash, Huddle House and Sunflair Tanning Salon. Register to win a Sunbeam gas grill, or stop by the Huddle House for free coffee or tea with any Big House Platter. The center is located on Little Savannah Road (formerly Long Branch Road) next to the Cullowhee Post Office.


CITY LIGHTS BOOKSTORE ...

will host a special children's storytime this Saturday at 11 a.m. with Lisa Horstman, author and illustrator of the popular children's books "The Great Smoky Mountain Salamander Ball" and "The Troublesome Cub in the Great Smoky Mountains." Children and parents are invited to hear Horstman read her books and talk a bit about the wild creatures that inspired her books.

RETIRED FEDERAL ...

employees will meet Saturday, March 23, at noon at the Terrace Hotel at Lake Junaluska. The Smoky Mountain Chapter of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees serves Jackson, Haywood, Macon, Swain and Graham counties.
