THE WEBSTER DANCE ...
(formerly called the Odd Ball), a monthly community event for dancers and musicians, is interested in developing a band of local musicians to play for the dances. A guest musician, experienced in playing for contra dances, will be available each month to lead the group. Practices will mostly be the same night as the dances. Interested musicians, especially guitar and mandolin players, are asked to call Cathy Arps at 586-5478. All ages are welcome, and young musicians are especially encouraged to participate.

readers and writers group? City Lights will hold an organizational meeting Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 7:30 p.m. for those who would like to form a group of writers and would-be writers of all genres and ages who want to discuss literature and share ideas. Also coming up at the bookstore is a reception and book signing for Carrie Holthouser of Cullowhee, who has written a historical romance novel set during the Civil War. THE JACKSON COUNTY ...
Public Library has received a copy of the second volume of "The Jackson County Heritage - North Carolina." The book was donated to the library by the Jackson County Genealogical Society and will be added to the reference collection. The library staff appreciates the society's donation.
SYLVA DIALYSIS ...
Center needs funds to assist patients who are unable to afford certain medications or other day-to-day necessities. Donations may be made at the center, located at 655 Asheville Highway. A Valentine's heart will be placed in the window at the center for each donation. Please designate if the contribtion is being made in memory of someone. The Dialysis Cener offers thanks to all who have helped over the past few years.

of America recently presented Cherokee KOA owners with the 30-year service award during KOA's annual convention in Lafayette La. The Schumachers - Walter, Carolyn, Eric, Douglas and Betty - began their KOA association in Unadilla, N.Y., where they purchased their first franchise.
