LOST PURPLE MITTEN...

During the first weekend of the Dillsboro Luminaire, a family was walking around looking for a little girl's lost lavender or purple mitten but could not find it. Lera Chitwood believes she found the mitten when cleaning up the Christmas decorations at Dillsboro's Town Hall. If anyone is looking for the mitten, call Chitwood at Olde Towne Inn, 586-3461.

DAVID BRADLEY....

a Western Carolina University instructor, will serve as survival training supevisor for the wilderness and environmental medicine course sponsored by the Depatment of Defense and Public Health Services Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, and the Wilderness Medical Society. Bradley is an American Red Cross instructor/trainer, certified strength and conditioning specialist and safety/survival instructor.


SM Sgt. Jerry Adams, right, of the UNC Asheville Police Department is presented with his advanced law enforcement certificate by UNC-A Chief of Police Lou Caliendo. The advanced certificate is awarded by the N.C. Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission and is the highest of three certificates based on training, education and years of service. Son of Bill and Glenda Adams of Sylva, Sgt. Adams is a 1987 graduate of Sylva-Webster High School and has served as a police officer since 1991.
