the arrival of another new year. As you're ringing in 2003, we hope you will remember that drinking and driving don't mix. Please heed the message on page 2B sponsored by five local insurance agencies and choose a designated driver if you choose to celebrate with alcohol.

LOCAL EDWARD JONES....

representative Graeme McGufficke is volunteering his time to share his knowledge with the firm's investment representatives in the United Kingdom.

"We've had a great deal of success with training in our region because of the quality of investment representatives in our area," McGufficke said. "As new investment representatives join us, we take the extra time to make sure they have all the tools they need to be successful. We are proud to share that with our colleagues in the United Kingdom."

Edward Jones expanded its operations into the United Kingdom in 1998 with eight original branch offices. Currently, the firm has more than 100 branches there, with plans for continued expansion.

Edward Jones, the only major financial services firm advising individual investors exclusively, traces its roots to 1871 and currently serves nearly 6 million clients. The largest firm in the nation, Edward Jones has 8,700 branches in the U.S., Canada and United Kingdom.
