AREA BUSINESSMAN LEE EWART...

has added Robbie's Charburger to the growing list of restaurants he owns. The Asheville Highway drive-in now features Lee's barbeque and the Smoky Mountain Grill menu. Robbie's is open Monday-Saturday until 9 p.m. At Robbie's, the coffee is 25 cents ­ all day, every day.


THE LARGEST INDOOR YARD SALE...

in Western North Carolina will be Saturday, March 18, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Western Carolina University's Ramsey Center. Sellers can rent a 10-foot by 10-foot space for $30 and keep all the profits. Call Doug Davis at 293-9645.

card information out over the telephone. We've had reports of a scam during which a caller tries to obtain credit card numbers by pretending to offer a Master Card "security update."


VETERANS WHO NEED A RIDE...

to the V.A. hospital in Oteen can call Anna Krinke. She is offering a new service and will transport veterans to and from the hospital for $20. Call her at 497-6765.

FLOOD VICTIMS...

in Mozambique are displaced and homeless and threatened by hunger and disease. The Adventist Disaster Relief Association is there now providing medical attention, food, clothes and temporary shelter. Call or write between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Sunday; 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday; and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday.


SPRING IS ALMOST HERE...

and along with the beautiful weather comes spring fire season, which typically lasts through March, April and May. Air is dry and winds are strong during these months; the problem is compounded by dry leaves on the ground from the previous fall. The N.C. Division of Forest Resources urges everyone to take special care when burning this spring. Stay with the fire until it is out and be sure to comply with all state and local ordinances pertaining to open burning.
