Staking out the steak house

Ryan's Family Steak House could be serving up steaks this April in its new restaurant in the Wal-Mart Plaza. Contractor Jim Broussard (above, right) said the target date for completion is "120 days from the day we break dirt." Broussard, giving stakeout instructions from blueprints (right) to worker Buddy Cassell, is from Alexandria, La. "This will be the ninth Ryan's we've built since May," Broussard said. "We just finished two in South Carolina; others were in Ohio, Mississippi, Texas and Louisiana." Sylva's restaurant, spanning 10,000 square feet, will include a large dining room, two small private dining rooms and an in-house bakery and butcher shop, Broussard said.
