Lady Mustangs snap Erwin's WAC winning streak

Lindsey Lewis scored 12 points and pulled down five offensive rebounds in Smoky Mountain's 60-54 victory at Pisgah last week. The Lady Mustangs went on to record victories over Erwin and Swain during the past week and are 8-0 entering the Christmas break.

In its three years of membership in the Western Athletic Conference, Erwin had a 25-0 record against WAC competition entering Friday's home game with Smoky Mountain.

The Lady Warriors are now 25-1 after the Lady Mustangs claimed a 69-52 victory. SM had been 0-5 all-time against Erwin.

The Lady Mustangs used balanced scoring to improve to 2-0 in the league. Elexis Smith was dominant with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Tara Green and Kaitlin Ritchie were right behind with 16 points, and Lindsey Lewis finished with 11.
