Justin Fryer heads out of bounds following his interception return to seal Western Carolina's 41-36 victory over Chattanooga. He picked off a Chris Sanders pass after the Mocs had driven to the WCU nine with less than a minute left.

Western Carolina built a 24-point lead late in the first half then held on for dear life in a 41-36 Southern Conference victory over Chattanooga Saturday.

Justin Fryer's interception at the goal line with less than a minute to play secured the victory in front of a homecoming crowd of 8,312 fans at E.J. Whitmire Stadium/Bob Waters Field.

Fryer was named the league's co-defensive player of the week. Lamont Seward, who caught five passes for 132 yards, was chosen freshman of the week.
