Smoky Mountain fought back from a two games to one deficit and clinched a spot in the state
3-A volleyball playoffs with a 13-15, 15-2, 12-15, 15-10, 15-10 victory last Thursday at Enka.
The Lady Mustangs (14-7) finished third in the Western Athletic Conference at 8-4. They were second among WAC 3-A school thereby qualifying for the playoffs. SM is in the post season for the first time since 1996. The first round match is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at North Surry, the top 3-A seed from the Mountain Valley Conference.
