Joseph Ensley (87), Josh Carnes (39) and Josh Day (40) combine to bring down Madison quarterback Scott Greene in the Mustangs' 57-6 rout Friday. Greene was tackled for zero or minus yardage 12 of the 14 times he carried the ball.

Smoky Mountain was expected to pick up an easy non-conference football victory over Madison Friday at Carr Hooper Stadium/Babe Howell Field, and that's exactly what happened.

In fact, the win was so easy that the Mustangs set a school record for points in the 57-6 romp.

David Leonard tied a record with seven extra points. SM also set a school record with two punt returns for touchdowns.

Trent Dillard gained 92 yards on 10 carries. Josh Cranes picked up 44 yards in just three attempts.

Justin Roper completed four of 11 passes for 45 yards. On the ground, he had 48 yards in seven attempts. He scored two TDs rushing and threw for another.

Smoky Mountain continued . . .
