SMHS's Trent Dillard

Trent Dillard (45) attempts to pull away from a Hayesville tackler in Smoky Mountain's come-from-behind 27-25 win Friday. Dillard gained 172 yards and scored three touchdowns while carrying a school-record 31 times.

In almost an instant replay of its victory over Swain a week earlier, Smoky Mountain's football team came from behind in the fourth quarter for a 27-25 win Friday at Hayesville.

Trent Dillard scored three touchdowns, including two in the final 3:37 of the game, as the Mustangs (2-1) rallied from a 25-14 deficit.

Dillard was a workhorse as he carried a school-record 31 times for 172 yards.
