Jackson County's 9-10 All-Stars won the West Area District 5 tournament and will play the East Area winner at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 15, in Bryson City.
To reach the district finals, the 9-10 team beat Mountain 14-0 in five innings July 7 and handed Franklin a 14-6 loss July 10. 15-16 All-Stars advance to district tournamentThe Jackson County Senior League All-Stars began District 5 West Area tournament play Saturday, July 8, against the Franklin All-stars at Fairview Youth Complex.Though Franklin won 7-4, the game was close until the sixth inning when Franklin struck for four runs to make the score 7-1 heading to the bottom of the inning.
