Abi Woody looks to go between two Murphy defenders in Smoky Mountain's 6-0 victory last week. Woody, who gave up going on the senior trip to play in the game, had a goal and three assists.

Melissa Collins and Sarah Whatley both scored twice helping Smoky Mountain down Murphy 6-0 in non-conference soccer action last Thursday at Carr Hooper Stadium/Babe Howell Field.

The Lady Mustangs (12-1) also received strong play from Abi Woody, who scored once and had three assists. The senior showed her dedication by foregoing the class trip to remain with the team.

"We came out slow," Coach Chris Griffin said. "We weren't going to the ball and weren't winning most of the 50-50s. We stepped it up in the second half. We were more aggressive going to the ball."
