Smoky Mountain took control early Monday and claimed a key 4-0 Western Athletic Conference soccer victory over Franklin at Carr Hooper Stadium/Babe Howell Field.
The Lady Mustangs (6-0, 3-0) remained tied with Tuscola for first place in the WAC. The teams will play at 7 p.m. Monday at SM.
Melissa Collins paced the Lady Mustangs with two goals and an assist.
"This is two games back-to-back where we played 80 minutes of quality soccer," Coach Chris Griffin said. "We're not sitting back on our heels. We're attacking the ball and playing a more aggressive style."
