Abi Woody scored four goals and had an assist Monday leading Smoky Mountain to a 9-1 romp at Pisgah in the Western Athletic Conference soccer opener.
The Lady Mustangs (3-0) got off 21 shots to seven by the Sugar Bears. SM's Lindsey Lewis recorded four saves.
"This is the best Pisgah team we have seen," Coach Chris Griffin said. "The first 25 minutes we played awful. We settled down and the last 15 minutes of the first half and in the second half played much better."
Woody opened the scoring with a goal from 10 yards out five minutes into the game.
