Smoky Mountain's women finished third in the Battle of the States Tournament played last Thursday through Saturday at Towns County (Ga.). The Lady Mustangs (8-3) defeated Heritage of Conyers, Ga. 71-35, lost to Polk County (Tenn.) 64-46 and downed Cherokee County (Ala.) 50-43. Lindsey Lewis was named to the all-tournament team. She scored 33 points and had 19 rebounds in the three games. "Lindsey had an outstanding tournament," Coach Cindi Simmons said. "She was consistent in all phases throughout the three days. It's quite an honor to be selected out of eight teams." |
