Following an open date, Western Carolina’s football team will return to action Saturday at UT-Chattanooga, and the Catamounts may have their record-setting quarterback available.
Kickoff time for the Southern Conference game is 4 p.m.
Tyrie Adams, who was suspended for undisclosed reasons the past two games, is listed as the backup quarterback on WCU’s two-deep depth chart, which was posted Tuesday morning. Will Jones, who has been the starter the past two games, is still listed as the #1 quarterback.
The Cats (1-2, 0-1) have not played since a 20-17 home victory over Division II North Greenville on Sept. 14. Jones passed for the winning touchdown in the fourth quarter of that game.
The Mocs (1-3) have dropped three straight games since opening with a 24-10 victory over Eastern Illinois. They fell to James Madison 37-14 last week.
UT-C leads the series 28-17 after a 26-6 win last year. Nick Tiano completed 22 of 28 passes for 204 yards in that contest.
Western was held to a season low 238 yards of total offense.

Tiano continues to direct the offense. Ailym Ford is the leading rusher, and Bryce Nunnelly is the top receiver.
