Western Carolina’s Athletic Department will observe Military and First Responder Appreciation Day on Saturday.

It will be a day full of activities, starting with the men’s basketball home opener at noon against Gardner-Webb in the Ramsey Center.

Following the basketball game, fans can make their way outside to the fun and festivities of Heroes Day prior to kickoff of the football game between WCU and East Tennessee at 3:30 p.m. in E.J. Whitmire Stadium.

All first responders and military members will receive free admission to both the basketball and football games. Family members have the opportunity to purchase a discounted ticket.

All Catamount fans can enjoy free admission to the basketball game when they present their ETSU football ticket to the ticket office.

Catamount Athletics will be hosting Tailgate Town Heroes Day edition. The area will officially be open at noon and is located in parking lot 9A in front of the Ramsey Center. First responders and military members who check-in will receive a special WCU Heroes Day button. Fans can engage with different military branches. Those confirmed to be in attendance include the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. The American Legion as well as the Fallen Heroes Ministry will also be represented.
