Jesse Norman, Western Carolina’s track and field coach, has announced the addition of 11 athletes for the 2019-20 indoor and 2020 outdoor seasons.
“While the women’s class is much smaller than we would have liked this year, I feel that we got some great talent that will be able to come in and score points in their respective events immediately,” Norman said. “We’re excited to develop this group and lay the foundation for the women’s program to get to the level of dominance that the men’s team has recently experienced.”
The signees are, along with events and personal bests:
Lauryn Dougherty, Sarasota, Fla., Riverview High, pole vault, 11-3.75; Sami Eberhard, Matthews, Weddington High, pole vault, 11-6; Mekyll Robinson, Charlotte, West Mecklenburg High, 100 meters, 12.04, 200 meters, 24.34, 400 meters, 55.95.
As for the men’s signees, Norman said, “This is a great class for the men’s program here at WCU.
