Western Carolina’s soccer season came to an end Sunday with a 1-0 double overtime loss at Mercer in the quaterfinals of the Southern Conference Tournament.

Ally Fordham scored a sudden death goal for the fourth-seeded Lady Bears with two minutes left in the second OT. Abigail Zoeller provided the assist.

The fifth-seeded Lady Cats (11-8) had an 18-16 edge in shots. Seven of WCU’s shots were on goal, compared to five by Mercer.

Jordyn Ebert made six saves for the Lady Bears, and Western’s Natalia Icen had four.
