Four members of Western Carolina’s track teams competed in the NCAA East Preliminaries, which were held Thursday through Saturday at the University of North Florida.

Junior Devaniel Dale took part in two events for the men. He was 34th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.19 and was 43rd in the 200 dash in 21.74.

Junior Makaila McIntyre placed 46th in the women’s long jump with a leap of 5.40 meters (17’8.75”).

Freshman Dakota Oxendine finished in a tie for 43rd in the men’s high jump as he cleared a height of 2.01 meters (6’7”).

Junior Di’Joun Huitt competed in the men’s triple jump but did not record a mark as he fouled on all three of his attempts.
