Smoky Mountain defeated Franklin 145-153 in a golf match last Thursday at Mill Creek in Franklin.

Allison Macke led the Lady Mustangs and was medalist with a 42.

“As a team, I thought we played well,” Coach Jason Melvin said. “We still need some work to become more consistent in every aspect of the game, tee box to green. I’m very proud of Allison Macke, as she played one of her best all-around matches with five pars and finished as the medalist.”

Also in scoring positions for SM were Madison Broom at 50 and Autumn Burtt at 53.

“Everyone fought through some bad holes and tough situations to pull out the win so I’m proud of them for not giving up when shots weren’t going their way,” Melvin said. “We have a ton of potential, and I can only hope the girls see how good they can be. We’re about 10 strokes away from being a real dangerous team at regionals, and I know we can get there.”
