Heroes 2 Legends inaugural event, Dani’s Fight, was held Sept. 21 at the National Guard Armory and was a tremendous success.

More than 200 people came out to support H2L in our fight against the opioid crisis in Jackson County and surrounding areas, making it the largest crowd to see wrestling in the area in well over a decade.

Ella Waldrop started the event with a stirring a cappella rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner”. Randy Wayne then spoke to the crowd about the purpose of Dani’s Fight and the non-profits that will benefit from the event proceeds.

Tracer X & Patrick Scott wrestled to a 15-minute time limit draw. X had hit Scott with his scintillating 450 splash just before time expired. X and the fans wanted five more minutes, and it seemed like Scott agreed to it before walking back to the locker room.

In a bonus six-man tag team match, The Foundation (Travis Roberts and Dylan Dollar) and “The Superior” Jake Jacobs defeated Juan Jeremy, Jeff Baker and Ryan Everett when Jacobs pinned Baker after hitting his “reality check” finishing maneuver.

Due to a last-minute cancellation, Dillon McQueen was added to the card for Dani’s Fight. Upon entering the ring, McQueen advised the rowdy crowd that there was “no man” in the building who could defeat him. At that point, Kenzie Paige’s music hit and she came out to demand she face McQueen herself. This match is notable to wrestling fans as it had two of the first graduates of the Jacobs-Prichard Wrestling Academy run by Knox County (Tenn.) Mayor Glenn ‘Kane’ Jacobs and Tom Prichard facing off against one another. After a tough match, Paige indeed defeated McQueen with a “super kick.”

Joshua “Real”Cutshall beat Chrisifix by disqualification when Fix hit Cutshall with the bird cage that Cutshall wears over his head for protection before wrestling.

“The Closer” Jeff Connelly and Travis Lee, known as The Outliers, defeated Space Jam, the team of Tyler Thorn and Colton Cage by referee’s stoppage. Thorn refused to submit to Connelly’s armbar, and Cage ran in to stop the match before permanent injury occurred. Connelly and Lee left both members of Space Jam laying after the match as they attacked Cage.

In the Main Event for Dani’s Fight, “Outlaw” Randy Wayne pinned Tyson Dean at the 22-minute mark. Late in the match, Dean pulled referee Kevin Martin in Wayne’s path, causing Martin to be temporarily incapacitated by a vicious clothesline from Wayne. Chrisifix then came out from the locker room to try and interfere, but did not count on Sylva’s own, former UFC star Spencer “The King” Fisher coming to the ring to even the numbers. Chrisifix made a move to attack Fisher but the MMA legend easily placed him in a rear naked choke and deposited him to the outside of the ring. Dean then turned his attention from Wayne and pushed Fisher back into a corner, but Fisher charged out hitting Dean with a running knee, knocking him towards Wayne who hit a cutter for the hugely popular win.

Heroes 2 Legends Wrestling will return to the National Guard Armory in January.
