The inaugural Jackson County Battle of the Badges flag football game is planned for 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Smoky Mountain High School’s Carr Hooper Stadium/Babe Howell Field.

The game will pit county firefighters and EMS personnel against local law enforcement workers and rescue squad members.

Cost is $10, with children 12 and under admitted free. There will also be free admission to anyone purchasing a T-shirt at the gate.

A punt pass and kick contest for children 12 and under is planned at halftime. Prizes will be awarded to category winners.

Proceeds will benefit Jackson County Fire and Life Safety. The nonprofit provides fire and life safety education to children in Jackson County. It includes those who serve as certified first responders belonging to emergency service organizations in the county.
