Western Carolina rising junior baseball player Justice Bigbie has been named Northwoods League Most Valuable Player and was one of 30 players selected as postseason all-stars in the wooden-bat league.

Bigbie batted .346 and had a league-high 70 RBIs for the Madison (Wis.) Mallards.

He was named Southern Conference Player of the Year last spring.

A product of Chesapeake, Virginia, he hit two home runs in the Northwoods League All-Star game to earn MVP honors.

Bigbie also received a bid to play in the NWL’s Major League Dreams Showcase, a game played between the top 100 prospects from the Northwoods League divided into four teams for a day of scouting workouts and doubleheader game action in front of Major League Baseball.
