Western Carolina rising senior Mason Faulkner has withdrawn his name from the NBA Draft with plans to return to school for his final season.

Faulkner had been among 163 underclassmen to declare for the draft, doing so in early April. According to NCAA rules, Faulkner is eligible to return to college since he did not hire professional representation and withdrew prior to the June 3 deadline.

Faulkner, who began his collegiate career at Northern Kentucky and sat out the 2018-19 campaign due to NCAA transfer rules, made an immediate impact on the Catamounts last season with a team-best 17.7 points per game, which was third in the Southern Conference. He posted the first two triple-doubles during the program’s NCAA Division I era.

Faulkner, who is from Glasgow, Kentucky, earned first-team All-Southern Conference honors and was a member of the conference all-tournament team.
