Western Carolina has added two signees for its women’s basketball recruiting class.
Audrey Meyers (Columbia, South Carolina/Cardinal Newman High School) and Nadia Marshall (Bainbridge, Georgia/Gulf Coast State College) will join the Lady Cats for the 2020-21 season.
Meyers, a 6-0 guard/forward, helped her team to back-to-back state 3-A private school championships. As a senior, she averaged 17.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.3 steals.
She was twice named state 3 A private school player of the year. She finished her career 1,458 points and 670 rebounds.
“Audrey is an absolutely tireless and relentless worker,” Coach Kiley Hill said. “She is an incredibly intelligent, versatile, and vocal basketball player.”
Marshall is a 5-9 guard/forward She earned all-state and all-region honors for junior colleges.
As a freshman at Gulf Coast in Panama City, Florida, she averaged 5.7 points and 3.2 rebounds and helped her team to the national junior college championship. She missed the past season with an injury.
Marshall was a two-time all-region selection at Bainbridge High School. She had career totals of 1,783 points and 1,000 rebounds.
“Nadia is the ultimate team player.” Hill said. “I’m not sure I have been around a more ‘we’ kid than her in a long time in the recruiting process. There is no doubt her skill set and intangible qualities were major contributors to her team’s success.”
