Western Carolina’s soccer team will play nine home games and nine on the road, according to a schedule released by Coach Chad Miller.

The Lady Cats will open the season Aug. 25 at home against Gardner-Webb.

After nine non-conference games, Southern Conference play will begin Sept. 27 at East Tennessee. The first league game will be Oct. 4 against UT-Chattanooga.

A Southern Conference Tournament play-in game will be held Oct. 30 with the ninth seed at the eight seed. Quarterfinals will be Nov. 2 at higher seeds.

The semifinals will be played Nov. 8, with the finals Nov. 10, both at UNC-G.

WCU will play two exhibition games – Aug. 13 at home against Appalachian State and Aug. 16 at Winthrop.

The schedule is as follows:

Sept. 1 – UT-Martin; 5 – at Davidson; 8 – at UNC-Charlotte; 12 – High Point; 15 – Radford; 18 – at UNC-Asheville; 22 – at North Florida; 27 – at East Tennessee.

Oct. 4 – UT-Chattanooga; 6 – Samford; 11 – at Wofford; 13 – at Furman; 18 – Citadel; 20 – Mercer; 25 – at UNC-Greensboro; 27 – at Virginia Military; 30 – Southern Conference Tournament first round at higher seed.

Nov. 2 – Southern Conference Tournament quarterfinals at higher seeds; 8 – Southern Conference Tournament semifinals at UNC-G; 10 – Southern Conference Tournament finals at UNC-G.
