Livingston Kelley won the Jackson County Golf Club’s annual Championship Tournament played Oct. 5 at Waynesville Inn Golf Resort.
Kelley and Tom Tabor had net scores of 99 over 27 holes, but Kelley won in a scorecard playoff.
Mike Bowler and Curtis Grace finished two strokes back at 101.
All golfers played nine holes on each of the three Waynesville courses – Carolina, Dogwood and Blue Ridge.
Grace had the top Carolina score of 31 with Chuck Hall and Blair Yount a stroke back.
Robbie Pittman edged Jackie Green by a stroke (28-29) on Dogwood. Grace and Joe Schivinski tied for third at 30.
Kelley led on Blue Ridge with a 32. Tabor and Jim Searcy tied for second at 34.
Rick Guenther had the top gross score of 124.
Coming closet to the pin on par 3’s were Ron Pressley (Carolina #4), Roy Osborn (Carolina #7 and Dogwood #4), Yount (Dogwood #9), Guenther (Blue Ridge #2) and Tony Stiers (Blue Ridge #5).
In summer long match play competition, Stiers won the championship with Bowler runner-up. Other semi-finalists were Yount and Guenther.
Jerry Rodinsky won the regular weekly tournament Oct. 28 at Waynesville on the Dogwood and Blue Ridge courses. He had a net score of 58. Hall, Pressley and Betty Henderson tied for second at 64.
Rodinsky led on the front nine at 27 with Hall and Young shooting 29.
Rodinsky and Pressley tied on the back nine at 31.
Coming closest to the pin on par 3’s were Tucker Kirk (Dogwood #4), Tom Dill (Dogwood #9 and Blue Ridge #5) and Grace (Blue Ridge #8).
