Little League All-Stars will begin play in July

The Jackson County Little League has announced all-stars in four divisions.

Tournaments will begin in July. In a new format, the top two teams in the area tournament will advance to the district finals.

The 9-10-year-olds will be managed by Mike Vanzura. They will open playoff action July 7 at Bryson City. Team members include: Sam Allison, Michael Bradley, Dylan Brooks, Nathan Bumgarner, David Cheatham, Martin Davis, C.J. Fortner, Trey Franks, Henry Kornegay, Nicholas Miles, Gabriel Skwara and Logan Vanzura.

Joe Brooks will be manager for the 11-12-year-olds. Their first game will be July 5 at Hayesville. Team members include: D.J. Brooks, Daniel Buchanan, J.R. Collins, Coleman Corzine, Tyson Crawford, Jared Deitz, Eric Farmer, Matthew Hawkins, Michael Jardine, Brandon Magruder, George Neslen, Zach Watson and Jeremy Wood.

The 13-14-year-old all-stars will open tournament play July 5 in Franklin. Roger Frizzell will serve as manager. Team members include: Brody Crawford, Ollin Dunford, Jason Farmer, Jarrod Frizzell, Spencer Jones, Stephen Karby, Nathan Medlin, Dustin Nicholson, Ben Robinson, Joseph Stapleton, Chan Turpin, Chad Watson and David White.

The final team to see action will be the 15-16-year-olds. Managed by Gary Melton, they will open July 10 in Sylva. Team members include: Bryan Carnes, Jake Day, Jared Day, Josh Day, Patrick Dowling, Landon Farley, Brody Frizzell, Matthew Holling, Sam McGuire, Dustin Melton, Brent Robinson and Eddie Thurston.
