Miranda Heather Thompson of Sylva and Scott Andrew Denson of Hendersonville were united in marriage Friday, July 31, at 1 p.m. at Botanical Gardens of Asheville.
Dustin Odom performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Hugh and Kathie Moore Thompson of Sylva, and the granddaughter of the late Frank and Helen Thompson, the late Theodore Moore and the late Lorene Calhoun.
The groom is the son of Roger and Bridget Galka Denson of Stuart, Fla., and Hendersonville, and is the grandson of Doug and Beverly Marshall of Okeechobee, Fla.; Phil Galka of Altamont, N.Y.; and Mary Jane Warren of Roseberg, Ore., and the late Ernest Denson.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore an ivory/champagne strapless A-line beaded lace tulle gown with a bird cage headpiece and carried a bouquet of pink gerbera daisies.
Maid of honor was Brittany Thompson of Hickory, sister of the bride. Matrons of honor were Amber Kevlin of Waynesville and Trinity Pokusa of Braselton, Ga., sister of the bride. They wore mint-colored dresses and carried mixed-colored gerbera daisies.
Bridesmaids were Savannah Pokusa of Braselton, niece of the bride; and Rebecca Denson of Hendersonville, daughter of the groom. They wore salmon pink dresses and carried pink gerbera daisies.
Flower girls were Holly Pokusa of Braselton, niece of the bride; and Breanna Cole of Hendersonville, niece of the groom. They wore pink tulle dresses.
Ring bearer was Aiden Cole of Hendersonville, nephew of the groom.
Dan Denson of Weaverville served as best man. Groomsmen were Jason Cole of Hendersonville, Sage Stoeppelwerth of Hendersonville, son of the bride, Thomas Pokusa and Bradley Pokusa, both of Braselton.
A reception was held at Botanical Gardens of Asheville.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Smoky Mountain High School and is a medication aide at Tsali Care Center in Cherokee.
The groom is a 2000 graduate of South Fork High School, Stuart, and is a foreman for Emory Electric in Asheville.
The couple’s wedding trip was to Pine Brook Manor.
