Amy Beasley Hoyle, a lifelong resident of the Locust Creek area of Jackson County, will turn 95 years old Saturday. A graduate of Webster High School, Hoyle married her life-long partner, Alvin Hoyle, also a Jackson County native.

The Hoyles raised three daughters, Sheila, Katie and Jo. Hoyle later worked for Smoky Mountain Mental Health and the Jackson County Public Schools. A lifetime church leader at East Sylva Baptist Church, Hoyle taught Sunday School, directed the children’s programs and, until her early 90’s, served as director of the Women’s Missionary Union.
