Gratitude for those who stepped up to combat county’s litter problem

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Jackson County Litter Task Force I want to thank all those in our community who stepped up these past two weeks and participated in our “Cleaning Up the Mountains” efforts. So many individuals and groups picked up litter in their community and throughout Jackson County.

We appreciate all you did!

I especially want to thank our partners who helped get the word out:

Allison Outdoor Advertising – Claude Dick for the digital billboards.

Stanberry Insurance – Kevin Stanberry for their marquee message.

Andy Shaw Ford – Larry Hinton for space for our banner.

The Print Shak – Todd Raleigh for the banner with updates.

The Sylva Herald – Kaylee Cook for two articles.

The work of keeping Jackson County Clean and Green is an ongoing effort and we encourage all our residents to continue to

1) secure their trash on the way to the SRC’s;

2) dispose of trash in proper containers;

3) pick up litter in their community on a regular basis.

We live in the most beautiful county, let’s keep it that way.
