Hermitage Mothers Day

Banners, balloons and blooming flowers adorned cars lining up around The Hermitage Assisted Living and Memory Care on Saturday afternoon during a Mother’s Day drive-through parade.

The Hermitage has restricted visitation since early March as part of a commitment to safety and infection control during the COVID-19 pandemic. Staff at the facility have worked to keep families connected, encouraging video calls and window visits and sharing photos and messages through Facebook.

“We couldn’t have the traditional Mother’s Day celebrations this year, because it still isn’t safe for our residents to have visitors, but we were able to work with our families to have this parade and make sure the women here know they are loved and appreciated,” said Misty Day, executive director.
