Kudos to the Sylva Rotary Club for its decision to launch a new satellite club that meets in the evenings for those who want to participate but can’t make time for daytime meetings. The group meets the first and third Tuesdays of the month at the Paper Mill Lounge in downtown Sylva.

Applications for the Rotary Club of Sylva are available on the website www.sylvarotaryclub.org under the Club Links tab. As for projects, Tavish Panozzo, the evening group’s chair, said the main focus of the group is children and the elderly. It’s a welcome expansion of a club that has served this town and county well for 90 years.
