As part of the N.C. Department of Transportation Clean Sweep, the Jackson County Keep Our Mountains Clean and Green Litter Task Force will hold the annual spring litter pickup during the weeks of April 16-30. To register a group or individual for the litter pickup call Kim Shuler at 586-7509 and make an appointment to receive supplies, which will be provided by the Jackson County Solid Waste Department. Supplies include vests, gloves, trash tongs and signs. Information needed for registration includes group leader name, contact information, the number of people in the group, and the name of the road where trash will be picked up.
