Helping heroes

On Oct. 3 we were fortunate enough to be one of the beneficiaries of the annual Hands On Jackson project (sponsored by Mountain Projects). Having never been on the receiving end of such generosity, we didn’t know exactly how it would play out. Eddie Wells, director of the Department on Aging, had informed us that the Lowes team would be helping us. Sure enough, multiple trucks bearing materials, tools and manpower showed up about 9:30 a.m. and worked seamlessly to get the jobs done by noon. Before leaving they gathered for a group photo. I am unsure if you can capture images of Earth Angels, but their orange T-shirts bearing the words LOWE’S HEROS will forever be emblazoned on our grateful hearts.
