Jimmy Woodard, 58, of Sylva went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019.
A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, he was the son of the late James A. and Gladys Woodard. Jimmy worked for more than 14 years at Environmental Inc. in Sylva. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Annie Ruth and Rebecca.
He is survived by his wife of nine years, Sandra Woodard; son, Craig of Asheville; daughter, Tina of Waynesville; two grandchildren; two brothers, Vernon Woodard of Sylva and James Woodard of Spartanburg, S.C. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019, at Fall Cliff Church Cemetery with the Rev. Caleb Kelly officiating.
The family received friends Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Appalachian Funeral Services.
