Savannah LuAnn Mos-teller, 23, of East Bend passed away Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020, in Sylva, N.C.

She was born July 14, 1997, in Forsyth County to David F. and Denise P. Mos-teller. Savannah graduated from Forbush High School, class of 2015, where she was active as the Student Battalion Commander of the JROTC. She was also a graduate with an associate degree from Forsyth Technical Community College, and a bachelor’s degree in forensic science, cum laude, with a minor in chemistry and criminal justice from Western Carolina University. In addition, she served as a mentor in the LEARN program to tutor other classmates.

Savannah was employed at Food Lion in Clemmons and Sylva N.C., as an office assistant from age 16 to the present. She attended Baltimore United Methodist Church and loved spending time with her family and her numerous friends.

Savannah was preceded in death by her grandfather, Bill Phillips.

Surviving are her beloved parents, David and Denise P. Mosteller of the home; her brother, Michael Mosteller and wife Hannah; her special nephew, James “J.W.” Mosteller; her brother, Nathaniel Mosteller and wife Tayler; her maternal grandmother, Peggy A. Phillips; paternal grandparents, Ronnie and Brenda Mosteller; several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends; and her “second dads,” Mike Brannon and Gavin Brannon.

A public viewing was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020, at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today (Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020) at Baltimore UMC with Pastor Chad Shoaf officiating. All who knew Savannah are welcome to attend.
