Rita Carnes of Aberdeen, Wash., formerly of Dillsboro, passed away on Oct. 7, 2021.

She was born in Pascagoula, Miss., to the late Cance Davis Carnes Jr. and Henrietta R. Carnes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Anderson; son, Sidney Anderson; siblings, Wanda Nations, Deborah Sutton, J.C. Carnes and Robert Carnes.

Survivors include daughters, Tina Barnette of La Quinta, Calif., Mitzi Beach of Aberdeen, Wash., Rachael Anderson of Port Angeles, Wash.; son, Ronnie Anderson of Aberdeen, Wash.; siblings, Dan Carnes of Hoquiam, Wash., John Carnes of Aberdeen, Wash; and Linda Cooper of Dillsboro; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held later.
