David Luker, 66, of Tuckasegee passed away Friday, Oct. 4, 2019.
He was the son of Allen Luker and Lillie Mae Brown Luker. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Luker.
David was in the construction industry, and he helped build the infrastructure in and around Jackson County. David was also an avid deer hunter.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Donnie and Bobby Luker; 13 grandchildren, McKinley, Eli, Blakelyn, Justin, Joseph, Jaylyn, Shaylyn, Abby, Haley, Callie, Tylee, Tanner and Josiah; two great-grandchildren, Dawson and Jaxion; five brothers, Thurman, Leamon, James, Elmer and Wallace Luker; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Jones, Alene Teague and Lucille Crawford.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019, in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with Rev. Jason Bryson and Rev. Doc Luker officiating.
The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.
Burial followed at Shook Cemetery.
