James “Jay” Wiser Madill, unexpectedly passed at 60, on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019, on his sailboat “Our Time,” at anchorage by St. Augustine, Fla.
Jay was born May 30, 1959, in Syracuse, N.Y. He was the son of the late Grant Christopher Madill and Carrie Margaret Bohrer Madill. He graduated from Venice High School, Venice, Fla.
Jay and Judy were married on May 3. She was the love of his life for 39 ½ years. He worked for the Boy Scouts of America as a camp ranger at Camp Daniel Boone since 2013, until his retirement this past March 2019 to continue his love of sailing.
Jay is survived by his wife, Judy; his brothers, Edward Madill and wife Debbie, John Madill and wife Julie; his children Louisa Barker, James Madill and wife Adrienne, Alex, Jayson; three grandsons, Joshua, Steven, Dylan; sisters- and brothers-in-laws, nieces, nephews.
Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020, at Camp Daniel Boone at the Ledbetter Lodge, officiated by Eddie Hollifield.
